Abstract
Grinding technology generally suffers from a lack of reproducibility in process conditions. This is particularly relevant today with regard to the desired automation of work processes (e.g., in numerically controlled machines). To determine the vibration behavior of a grinding wheel and thus its grinding properties, a series of measuring devices and an acoustic method for determining the physical-mechanical material properties are presented here.
